Video: Kimono Project by Fukuoka kimono show owner

Did you know Yoshimasa Takakura, a kimono shop owner in Fukuoka, launched a project to produce kimonos that represent countries around the world? Artisans in Japan were encouraged to create these designs which he hopes will be used at the opening of the Tokyo Olympics by the placard bearers.

The delegates at last year’s Fukuoka Kenjinkai Worldwide Convention in Fukuoka had the opportunity to view two of the designs (including Canada) at the opening ceremonies.
