As a member of the Toronto Fukuoka Kenjinkai, you can apply to become a student at a Fukuoka post-secondary institution for one year. The prefecture will pay for many of your expenses, but in exchange you will have to take part in the activities the prefecture organization provides for you (with the other students from various Fukuoka Kenjinkais) and abide by their rules. Last year, Toronto’s first participant in the program went to Japan. She is keeping a blog (mostly in Japanese) so please take a look.
The Toronto Fukuoka Kenjinkai board members wish all our members a happy and safe holiday season. See you all at the AGM and Social in the spring.
The 5-pin bowling lanes are now filled up and we need a few more 10-pin bowlers. Please RSVP to the webmaster using the contact form by September 12. We have 5 5-pin lanes booked and 3 10-pin lanes. The elevators are not in service so please make sure you can come up and down the stairs.
Some people were sad that there was no picnic this year, so we have decided to add a bowling event. Date will be Sunday, September 17, from 1 p.m. at Parkway Bowl (located on the border of Scarborough and North York, at Victoria Park and Ellesmere Rd, just South of highway 401 (Victoria Park Exit)).
