The Toronto Fukuoka Kenjinkai committee members held their annual Gosenkai and voted on people filling in the positions of president, vice president, etc.

Our Annual General Meeting and Social for this year will be held on Sunday, April 23, from 1 p.m. at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. As usual, you will have to pay your membership fee of $5. Members who are 80 years and over will get a free bento. Otherwise the bento cost is $15. Please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to take part in the entertainment portion (karaoke, dancing, etc.).
Mr. Mitsuru Yamashita will be representing the Toronto Fukuoka Kenjinkai and giving a talk on March 20 at Kokusai Hiroba in Fukuoka, Japan.
We have very sad news to share with our friends and members of the Toronto Fukuoka Kenjinkai.
Mr. Suenori Tominaga passed away peacefully on December 16th, 2016 at Scarborough Hospital. He leaves behind his beloved wife Natsuyo Tominaga and only child, Hana Tominaga. He will be remembered not only as a loving husband and father but also for his commitment and contributions to karate in Canada. He is the Founder of Jinbukai Canada and taught at the University of Toronto Karate Club for 46 years and at the Goulding Karate Club for over 20 years. He has been a long standing member of the Karate Canada and Karate Ontario Technical Advisory Committees as well as an international referee. In his spare time, he was the long time President of the Toronto Fukuoka Kenjinkai, GO board game player and avid fisherman.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday December 27th, 2016 at Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough Chapel, 3280 Sheppard Ave East, Scarborough, ON, 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm Viewing/Visitation, 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm Memorial Service, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Reception, and private internment at Pine Hills Cemetery. In lieu of Koden (Monetary donations) flowers may be sent to the funeral home on the morning of service.
