The board of the Toronto Fukuoka Kenjikai held their Gosenkai in June and welcomed new board member Shinji Yamaguchi. Together we hope to continue to bring you various events by the Kenjinkai.
It’s almost time for our first event of the year. This year’s Annual General Meeting and Social will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. The program starts at 1 p.m. and runs until 6 p.m. Make sure you RSVP. Bring your friends and family for a fun filled afternoon. The membership fee costs $5. If you are 80 years and over, and are a member, you will get a free bento. Otherwise the bento cost is $15. Please let Mr. Yamamoto know as soon as possible if you would like to take part in the entertainment portion (karaoke, dancing, etc.).
Wishing our members a happy holiday season and best wishes for the New Year! See you all at the AGM and Social in 2019!
Longtime Board Member (and past Co-Vice President) Mr. Kunio Suyama passed away yesterday, December 17, 2018. He was in his 91st year. To read obituary, go here: https://www.arbormemorial.ca/highland-scarborough/obituaries/mr-kunio-suyama/27803
Mr. Suyama was always the MC for our entertainment portion of our social events and he would always put on a stunning karaoke performance. We will miss him and his singing voice. We are so happy you were a part of our lives and our Kenjinkai.
Please join the family at the visitation and funeral, being held this week.
Thank you to everyone who came out to our bowling event! We all had a fun time. Here are some photos.
